All Of The Free MP3 Sites Are Being Bought Up [Post a Comment]
First, Lala. Now iMeem. Who’s next?

Apple has inked a deal to purchase the free music streaming site Lala, seeking to add their database to its own iTunes database. Now Myspace has just inked a deal to buy the so-called social networking music streaming site iMeem — for under a million, believe it or not.

Figures. Every time the little guy stumbles onto something big, the big giants come swooping down to snatch them up and thin out the playing field again. Of course, the “little guy” generally doesn’t complain too much. The guys behind YouTube certainly didn’t complain when Google bought them out for over a billion dollars.

What do you think about all of these acquisitions? Too bad no one came to save SpiralFrog when it was around.
