Funk Master George Clinton’s Mother Passes Away [Post a Comment]
Not too long ago, I blogged about the passing of Grace Cook, mother of the late Funkadelic guitarist Eddie Hazel. Well, now I have to report on the passing of another P-Funk member’s mom.
According to radio DJ Patty Jackson of WDAS FM in Philadelphia, as told during her What’s The 4-1-1 segment at 2:30 PM EST, funk master George Clinton’s mom has passed away. I do not have any details yet but I’ll update when I get some.
The only mention I’ve ever heard from George on his parents was when he once joked on one of those documentaries on him and the group that he was born in an outhouse and that he came very close to being wiped out and flushed down the toilet, if you know what I mean.
Well, thankfully, that didn’t happen or we would have been deprived of one of our greatest funkateers. R.I.P., “Mother Funkenstein”.
