Celebrate The Legacy Of Michael Jackson On FUSE [Post a Comment]
Friday, June 25th marks the one-year anniversary of Michael Jackson’s passing. To celebrate his legacy from home, check out the Fuse cable network.
All day Friday from 11 AM into Saturday morning, the Fuse network will be featuring non-stop programming dedicated to the late Michael Jackson. Music videos, documentaries, the works.
Wow. It’s still hard to believe that Michael Jackson is gone. I still remember the shock I felt last year when it happened. Lest we forget, it is also the anniversary of the passing of actress and original Charlie’s Angels star Farrah Fawcett.
I had already been saddened by her passing from cancel earlier that day when I was driving home from work and was listening to the Michael Baisden Show. He and his crew were in Aruba, I think. That was, of course, supposed to be a festive and fun filled day for the show. Needless to say, the party mood was soured upon the CNN announcement and confirmation that Michael Jackson was dead. I was very stunned to hear of it during my drive home.
I do have to get one thing off my chest though. I do think that it’s a shame that we are now hearing Michael Jackson music ad nauseum on the radio, after his sudden death last June, whereas before it had tapered off. Truth be told, Michael Jackson had become a punchline to tabloid media circles before his passing. Now that he is gone, I dare you to not hear Michael Jackson on the radio at least once a day.
Why can’t we appreciate a person when s/he’s alive? Why does it always seem to take that person dying before we can appreciate that person?
Sigh — alright, I’m jumping back off of my soapbox now. Check out the Fuse network Friday and Saturday morning, if you have that channel in your cable package.
