Jennifer Hudson Will Address Tragedy On VH1 Behind The Music
Multi-award winning singer and actress Jennifer Hudson will be the latest featured artist Monday night on VH1’s revived series Behind The Music. What makes this notable is that, for the first time, she will be candidly addressing the brutal murder of her mother, sister, and nephew at the hands of her erstwhile brother-in-law.
I can’t imagine any greater challenge than overcoming such a horrific tragedy as Jennifer Hudson has. To have members of her family brutally gunned down is bad enough. To have it done by the man married to one of her sisters is unthinkable. I still remember my surprise when it first happened and I heard about it on the radio while making a trip to D.C. I just couldn’t believe it. Jennifer Hudson had been on such an incredible rise to fame with Dreamgirls and her multitude of awards and then to be hit by that tragedy. Understandably, it took some time for her to bounce back after that and regain her footing again. Now she will be formally addressing it for the first time on camera on VH1’s Behind The Music Monday night so don’t miss it.
